Our 2017 by the numbers
It’s been a banner year for Kennedy Events. In 2017, we have had one of our most exciting years in business yet, with the best clients an event planner could ask for, plus a new rebrand and website for ourselves. Today, we’re wrapping up our year with a taste of what we’ve accomplished, including everything from the whimsical to the wins.
24 + Events
We filled our calendar with 24 big events this year (not counting the small scale ones!), and had a blast at all of them! From Sales Machine to TrainAi and #ONUG2017, we helped launch and grow tech conferences, raise money with fundraising galas, celebrate and build company culture with internal corporate events, and bring awareness to important social initiatives through nonprofit events.
171 Vendors
It takes a village to make every event happen, so we hired and managed 171 vendors across all of our events this year. From florals to lighting, catering to swag, riggers to drapers, stage hands to signage, and more, we spend 2017 “bringing it all together” for our clients.
14,000+ Attendees
We put our skills to work for more than 14,000 attendees. (That’s a lot of people!) We’re humbled that our clients trusted us with their visions to engage and delight their attendees and guests.
Three New Team Members
We’re so happy to say that our team grew by three members this year! We welcomed Jonny, Robin, and Brent to the team to help with coordinating, managing events, and hacking stellar systems so it all runs smoothly.
ONE Brand Refresh
Our look was feeling a bit, ahem, vintage. So with the growth of our team and business, we stripped back to the essentials and re-built a whole new visual platform around who we’ve grown into over the years.
One new website
You’ve probably already heard our other big news: we launched one new website—ours! Going hand-in-hand with our new look is a bold new site that we feel pretty at home in, stay a while and see what you think.
Events with strategy
We helped brands like Salesforce and Sales Hacker produce events with strategy baked into every detail so that they can form strong connections with their ideal customers. In 2017, we loved planning and producing Sales Machine, an event hosted by Salesforce and SalesHacker. Our powerful planning helped these hosts reach more than 1,200 event attendees, and during the live event, we got to do what we do best: create an event with thoughtful and strategic elements to delight as well as communicate with attendees.
$12,000 – Helped Raise awareness
We helped brands like #CASH put on events that raise awareness and funds so that they can forge ahead with their important mission. Planning and producing the #CASH event was a dream come true for us. Hosted by the Economic Security Project, this event focused on building momentum and bringing leaders together to explore how a universal basic income could improve the lives of all Americans. Like SalesMachine, our role in this event was to plan and produce, with an added KE signature touch. We made sure that every element we styled had a strategic purpose, and our client struck a cool note of reflecting on money and the past while looking to this future-forward idea by holding the event in the historic Old Mint Building in San Francisco. The amount of $12,000 is a test figure of what each person would receive from government in a society that had a universal basic income. What would you do if you were guaranteed $12,000 a year?

In our newsletters, we’ve shared some of our favorite resources and behind-the-scenes looks at what it takes to be an event producer. If you're not yet along for the ride, scroll up to find our signup portal to the right of this blog post!
40 Hours On Loading Docks
Forty hours spent on stinky, cold loading docks overseeing trucks for load-ins. All that equipment isn’t going to load itself!
So Many New Friends
We got to know so many wonderful people through our Cocktails with KE Event, through our three cocktail parties. We had our brand-friends and clients come out to cool bars to relax, let their hair down, and get to know us just a little better. Couldn’t make it in 2017? Let us buy you a drink in 2018! Get on the invite list here.
Two final thoughts...
No holiday event is complete without a bit of sparkle, so we we couldn’t resist stringing 7,000 feet of purple twinkle lights.
We also had one accidental purchase of RuPaul’s Drag Race on the corporate card. (We’re sure all of you did too, right?)
